An Aberdeen hair salon donated dozens of back-to-school haircuts for low-income families last week.
Pat’s Trim &Style did 64 haircuts over the course of four hours on Aug. 21.
“It was supposed to be from 6 to 8 p.m., (but) ended up 5:30 to 9:30,” said proprietor Pat Gordon.
Gordon said volunteers with Altrusa International of Central Grays Harbor helped set it up. They handed out back-to-school backpacks at Harbor City Church and included coupons for free haircuts at the beauty shop.
“We had myself, Brenda Blue Whipple, who works with me, and two awesome volunteers: Sheri Karl and Jennifer Karl,” said Gordon. “We had so much fun cutting hair. The families appreciated us.”
