On a dark and cold almost-winter night, Lucy was callously discarded from a car at a 7-11. A homeless man was kind enough to bring her to PAWS.
Tiny yet stoic, Lucy is a young (less than a year old) Dachshund mix who is cute and loving. She’s up to date on her shots and soon to be spayed. So far so good, right?
Well, there’s a glitch: Lucy has a genetic hip condition that causes her pain. She may need expensive surgery to relieve that pain. A possible alternative is for her to take pain medication her entire life — which, down the road, could take a major toll on her liver.
So, here’s the deal: Lucy needs a home. If you’re up for it, please fill out an application at www.pawsgh.org . If you can’t take her in, yet are concerned for her well-being and would like to help, please call 360-533-1141 to make a donation toward her care.
PAWS of Grays Harbor is located at 800 W. First St., Aberdeen. They are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.
