Annika Eisele was honored Wednesday as the Rotary Club’s Aberdeen High School Student of the Month for February.
Annika, the daughter of Chris and Anne Eisele, maintains a 4.0 cumulative GPA while balancing AP coursework, college classes and numerous activities.
As a four-year member of the AHS Girls Swim Team, Annika has earned three state titles and now serves as captain. She also offers free one-on-one swim lessons for children who want to learn, but may not be able to afford it. “I believe that it is an essential life skill that every child should be educated about, no matter their economical background,” she says.
Annika is editor-in-chief of the AHS yearbook, a World Class Scholar participant, and a peer tutor for the National Honor Society.
Upon graduation, she plans to attend Pacific Lutheran University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing — and keep swimming.
Each year, the Aberdeen Rotary Club honors Aberdeen High School seniors through its Student of the Month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month between October and May. In June, two of these eight students are then selected for either the $1,000 “Blue” or $2,000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
