Bike & Build participants made a stop in Aberdeen Aug. 12-13 to work on a home build with Habitat for Humanity of Grays Harbor.
Bike & Build is a Philadelphia-based organization that engages in service-oriented cycling trips all over the country to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. The “Drift West” trip participants started in Portland and will end in Bellingham, with several service stops along the way.
“This is two organizations coming together to help a local Grays Harbor family,” said Habitat board member Kuinn Karaffa. “That is what Grays Harbor is all about: giving back, and helping one another.”
In addition to the house construction, Bike & Build participants volunteered at two of Habitat’s critical home repair sites as well as the nonprofit’s retail store while they were on the Harbor.
