Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints will perform at the Raymond Theatre this weekend as part of the Sunday Afternoon Live series.
This lively Northwestern band was born out of the love for the early years of swing, Americana and vintage rock ’n’ roll, reminiscent of the days of speakeasies, honky-tonks and roadhouses.
The Seattle Times called them “a group pulsing with rockabilly, the exploratory sensibilities of jazz, and tender lyricism of country-folk. … Pereira thrives in the space between styles, mixing and blending the country, folk and rock ’n’ roll music he was raised on with the jazz music he studied at University of Washington.”
The show will begin Sunday at 2 p.m. at the historic theater, 323 Third St. in Raymond.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $12 at the box office, Raymond Pharmacy or South Bend Pharmacy. Tickets are also available on PayPal at www.sundayafternoonlive.org, or by calling (360) 836-4419. The cost is $15 at the door.
