Celtic Music Feis starts next week in Ocean Shores

On Monday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 27, the Galway Bay Irish Restaurant, Pub & Gifts, located at 880 Point Brown Ave. NE, will herald in the 21st year of the Galway Bay Celtic Music Feis, celebrating Irish songs, ballads, players and bands that will be flooding Ocean Shores with music and fun for seven days this October.

This year the festival kicks off with a cover free, laid back vibe at the Ale House on Monday, Oct. 21, as the pub is closed. Then they kick off day two and the rest of the week at the pub the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 22, and lasts until Sunday, Oct. 27. An eclectic mix of Irish bands, choirs and dancers hailing from throughout the United States, Canada and, of course, Ireland will be rounding out this year’s entertainment.

Driftwood Players present ‘The Play That Goes Wrong!’

The Driftwood Players present the, “The Play That Goes Wrong!”

This show is side-splitting start to finish.

The play is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and directed by Brad Duffy, with mentor director Ryan Colburn.

The story: It’s opening night of the Cornley Polytechnic University Drama Society’s newest production, “The Murder at Haversham Manor,” where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. The Drama Society sets out to open their run of this 1920s whodunnit, but everything you never wanted in a show — an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines) — starts to ensue. Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds, poison, and peril to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences.

Performance Dates:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Oct. 18, 19, 20

Friday and Saturday curtain time: 7:30 p.m.
