High Impact Dance Academy will present its 23rd annual holiday showcase at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Montesano High School Commons. This year’s theme is “Swingin’ Into the Holidays.”
The students hail from all over Grays Harbor. They range in age from 18 months to adult, and in proficiency from beginning through advanced. For many, it will be their first time on stage.
They will perform tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, musical theater, clogging, lyrical and tumbling to artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick Jr. and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
The academy, located in Shoppes at Riverside in South Aberdeen, is owned and operated by Dayna Daneker. This will be her 48th year either dancing or teaching for a holiday production.
“One of the best things about being a dancer and teacher is watching the kids get to shine on stage,” she said. “They are all stars in my eyes.”
The show is free to the public. For more information, find High Impact Dance Academy on Facebook.
