Local singer-songwriter Ericka Corban is busy recording an album and juggling four home-schooled kids, with more than a dozen tour dates ahead of her. But on Monday she will carve an hour out of her schedule to sign copies of her children’s book, “Tippy the Owl,” which was released earlier this month.
Corban, who gained national attention after an appearance on NBC’s “The Voice,” will be at Harbor Books & Gifts from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday. The event will begin with a short meet-and-greet, followed by a reading at 5:40. The book will be available for purchase, and Corban will sign copies.
Refreshments will be served.
Corban said she wrote the story for her four sons. The book was self-published and can be purchased online at tippytheowl.com. It was illustrated by Gabriela Issa Chacon.
Corban said the book is about friendship and problem-solving. It’s about an owl named Tippy who is continually falling out of bed. His pal, a bunny named Hop, helps him find a way to stay in his tree.
Harbor Books is at 510 W. First St. in Aberdeen. A video of the entire story is available on Youtube at youtube.com/watch?v=s87Y2LlYdig.
