The annual “First Day” hike will take place Monday afternoon at Lake Sylvia State Park in Montesano.

Washington State Parks Ranger Miles Wenzel will lead a 2-mile hike around the lake. A volunteer from Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia State Parks (FOSLS) will lead a shorter walk.

Hikers should gather at the kitchen area by 12:45 p.m. Dress for the weather; the hike will take place rain or shine. Well-mannered dogs on short leashes are welcome. Bicycles are not.

Hot beverages and cookies will be provided after the hike.
