Free laser show, outdoor movie screening at Sonshine Park in Hoquiam this weekend

A free laser show and an outdoor screening of “The Princess Bride” will light up Sonshine Park in Hoquiam during Fourth of July weekend.

Emerald City Events and Entertainment is teaming with Immanuel Baptist Church for the event at the church’s 10-acre park at 1200 Soule Ave.

The weekend kicks off after sunset on Saturday with the PG-rated classic film “The Princess Bride.”

On Sunday, DJs Tripdubb and DJ Life will provide live music starting at 4 p.m. The laser show will begin after sunset.

The event takes place in a wide-open field; bring your own blankets and chairs. Unvaccinated participants are encouraged to wear masks, and event coordinators are asking that you pack out whatever you bring in.
