October is Star Wars Reads month. Celebrating its eighth year, Star Wars Reads, sponsored by Lucas Films LTD and Disney, kicked off October 1 with special events throughout the month in libraries and bookstores across the nation.

Locally, Sucher & Sons Star Wars Shop has partnered with Aberdeen’s Harbor Books, 510 W. First St., to support this month-long celebration of all things Star Wars and reading. Don Sucher has hand-selected items from his shop to display at the bookstore and New York Times Bestselling author Ian Doescher will be appearing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sat., Oct. 19. He’ll be signing all eight (the final ninth book will be released after the final film’s run) of his Shakespeare’s Star Wars series as well as his newly debuting book MacTrump and others, including Much Ado About Mean Girls, Get Thee Back to the Future and a Deadpool graphic novel.

Star Wars themed activities are planned at the bookstore from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., too. For more information follow Harbor Books on Facebook.
