The non-profit International Mermaid Museum at the Westport Winery Garden Resort is seeking art submissions to its grand opening on March 29, 2021.
“The museum’s entry has a wall dedicated as a space for local artists to display their work,” said Westport Winery co-owner Kim Roberts. “This display will rotate on a quarterly basis with a champagne reception for each new exhibit. The first artist reception is on April 2 at 6 p.m.”
The museum will accept one piece per artist, in any medium. The subject must be mermaids or marine life. This is a curated display as space is limited. Submissions are limited for this initial showing to residents of Grays Harbor, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Jefferson, Clallam, Thurston, Mason and Lewis counties.
Submissions are accepted until Feb. 28 via email to info@mermaidmuseum.org. For more information go to www.mermaidmuseum.org. Submission must include the artist name, address, phone number, a description of the medium, title of the submission, and price.
The museum is located on the grounds of Westport Winery Garden Resort located halfway between Westport and Aberdeen on the Washington Coast. The museum will teach ocean ecology from the seashore to the sea floor, including mermaid lore from across the globe.
