North Beach Jr./Sr. High School members of Teens Against Destructive Decisions put together a Halloween “Trunk or Treat” party Saturday afternoon, which was moved indoors due to heavy rain. Students and staff worked to provide a safe trick-or-treating experience for area youngsters. Despite the weather, dozens of kids and young families turned out to enjoy the experience.
On Friday night, the Ocean Shores/North Beach Chamber of Commerce held its first Halloween Gala at the Shilo Inn, with a fundraising auction, costume contest and dancing to the band Raucous.
Highlights included the costume event, which was won by a Mary Poppins outfit worn by Tricia Funk and her chimney sweep escort, Eric Bjella. Funds raised through the auction went toward North Beach scholarships.
