The Raymond High School band program played for an international audience over spring break. After auditioning and being accepted to play on a Disneyland Resort stage, the Seagulls flew south. Day one included travel, a tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills and observing a wind ensemble rehearsal at UCLA. Day two the students were able to be a sound recording ensemble for a couple of hours. They sight read music, put on headphones, recorded to a click track and dubbed over scenes from Disney animated films.
On the third day of the trip, the band performed on the Hollywood Backlot stage in Disney’s California Adventure park and watched “Love Never Dies” at the historical Pantages Theater. On day four they played a concert for the Veterans Home of California and mingled with those who served our country. They ended the trip in Santa Monica for a little beach time.
