Last week, a group of Westport Community Garden volunteers came together for the annual spring cleanup. They mowed, whacked weeds, cleaned out bins, and even dug up a few potatoes and carrots from last year’s crop.
Bins are available to rent for the season for $10, and they are available to anyone in the area. The city of Westport is delivering a load of compost this week, and the garden has water and some basic tools. The only restriction is that the Community Garden is organic, so they ask that no herbicides be used.
For more information or to rent a bin, contact the city at 360-268-0131.
