Classic cars will line Westhaven Drive on Saturday when the Eastside Street Rod Association’s Westport Run car show returns to town.
The Bellevue-based car club will bring dozens of classic rides to Westport for the show. The event is free for the general public. Car registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday; the fee for entry is $35.
The club focuses on pre-1949 vehicles but welcomes any entries model year 1975 and older.
There’s a poker run starting at 10 a.m., and there will be dash plaques awarded, along with door prizes and the annual People’s Choice award for the favorite classic car. The show and shine kicks off around noon, followed by a cruise down Westhaven.
Proceeds from the show benefit charities including the South Beach Food Bank. In May, club president Butch Sweet sent a letter and $150 donation to Dennis Rasmussen, director of the South Beach Food Bank.
“On behalf of the members and families of the Eastside Street Rod Association, it’s my pleasure to send the enclosed donation in the amount of $150,” wrote Sweet. “Please think of this as a small token of our appreciation for the kindness and consideration shown by the City of Westport, area businesses, and residents during our annual rod run.”
