The 25th annual Whale of a Quilt Show will be held Friday through Sunday at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.
The popular event features presentations of quilts, quilted items, wearables and other items made by members of the Ocean Shores Sea Pal Quilt Guild.
Winning entries will be judged by the show’s visitors.
Many vendors from the Northwest will be featuring the latest in fabrics, patterns, quilting/sewing supplies, and machines. Pacific Sharpening will be on site Friday and Saturday for any sharpening needs.
The boutique presents many handmade items for sale. “Quilters in Action” demonstrates the making of quilt blocks. Demonstrations by vendors and other quilters also will be presented all three days; schedules will be posted at the show.
There is a quilt walk in downtown Ocean Shores from Thursday through Sept. 27, with various business locations participating. Free maps will be available at the show.
The nonprofit guild is made up of more than 60 quilters from Ocean Shores and the surrounding area. Funds raised are used for helping local charitable organizations, sponsoring the annual show and conducting classes.
The major source of funding is the raffle quilt created by guild members. Tickets are $1, and the winner will be announced at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, with donations appreciated.
