A Tacoma man is one of two members of the Coast Guard arrested Thursday on charges of rape and voyeurism, according to the Pacific County Sheriff’s Department.
The 24-year-old was arrested along with a 27-year-old from Ilwaco after an investigation that started in September following an alleged sexual assault that occurred near Ilwaco. The men are members of the Coast Guard and stationed in Pacific County according to Portland TV station KATU.
The Sheriff’s department obtained search warrants and collected evidence that led to the arrests. U.S. Coast Guard Investigations assisted, according to a statement released by the department.
Both were booked into Pacific County Jail on charges of second degree rape and first degree voyeurism. The Tacoma man is held on $100,000 bail and the Ilwaco man is held on $150,000 bail.
