7th Street Kids to hold two in-person sessions this summer

The 7th Street Kids will be hosting two in-person sessions this summer at the historic 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam. Parents need to register for an appointment to audition in person — and the deadline is Friday.

Auditions for “Winnie the Pooh KIDS” will be held June 5 and June 6 for in-theater performances July 16 and 17.

Auditions for “Frozen Junior” will be held June 5 and June 6 for in-theater performances July 29, 30, 31, and Aug. 1.

Organizers need parents to preregister for an audition appointment through the website. Late registrants may be assigned an appointment on a space-available basis.

Auditions will be held at the 7th Street Theatre, at 313 Seventh St. in Hoquiam, and masks are required.

Because this is a return to the theater, COVID-19 protocols are in place and organizers warn parents, “we will be doing health screenings, cleaning and sanitizing, and changing some of our policies to make sure the risk is as low as possible, but there is always a chance of exposure.”

If you or your child are uncomfortable or unable to follow the health and safety guidelines, organizers ask that you do not audition this year, and express their thanks for your understanding.

The nonprofit 7th Street Kids operates a six-week musical theater program every summer for children ages 7 to 16, culminating in a major production. Since the organization’s inception in 1992, more than 600 kids have participated.
