Aberdeen approves $110,000 for festivals, beautification

The Aberdeen City Council voted to award $110,000 in Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) grant money to 11 applicants at Wednesday evening’s City Council meeting held at Grays Harbor College.

According to the city of Aberdeen’s official website and the LTAC’s page, the grant money is awarded for “the purpose of attracting visitors and encouraging tourist expansion.”

The recipients include:

Beyond Grays Harbor, for the Aberdeen Founders’ Day Parade and Festival ($5,000).

Out and Proud Grays Harbor Coalition for the 2025 Grays Harbor Pride Festival ($3,000)

Pacific Northwest Music Project ($19,000)

Downtown Aberdeen Association for Summerfest Goes West ($3,500), Winterfest ($3,500) and World Music Day ($3,500)

Harbor Art Guild for Rain Glow ($7,500), and ghOST (Grays Harbor Open Studios Tour) ($15,000)

City entities receiving LTAC grant money include: Aberdeen Parks, $15,000 for beautification; Aberdeen Public Works, $20,000 for traffic control; and Art Commission/Parks, $15,000 for the Wishkah Bridge sign.

Those not awarded:

Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, $15,000 for an outdoor venue; and Beyond Grays Harbor’s Art Walk ($5,000).
