Aberdeen High School maintained some security measures in place after escalating measures following a threat over social media on Tuesday.
Security was stepped up after administration received a report that someone had said they were going to bring a weapon to school on a social media thread.
More adults and a visible police presence continued on Thursday, according to a news release from the school district.
“I especially want to thank the students and parents who came forward to share what they were hearing in case it might be helpful,” said Aberdeen High School Principal Aaron Roiko. “These are very difficult and stressful situations for everyone, and I wish we lived in a world where these situations weren’t affecting our kids.”
The Aberdeen Police Department is investigating the incident.
