The Aberdeen Police Explorers were awarded a $2,000 grant from the 7-Eleven Corp. at their corporate sales event in Auburn on Dec. 5.

The grant, called “Project ‘A’ Game,” recognizes law enforcement partners that contribute to youth programs like the Explorers, according to a police department release.

The Explorers are students between the ages of 15 and 20 who learn about law enforcement firsthand by training and riding on patrol with actual police officers.

The release said the money will be used to support the Explorer post in training, equipment purchases and community events.
