Another Aberdeen City Council member resigns

Fifth in the last year

Yet another resignation has opened another spot on the Aberdeen City Council.

Mayor Pete Schave announced at Wednesday’s council meeting that Ward 1 Councilman Dave Haviland had resigned, effective immediately. This is the fifth resignation from the council in the last year.

Haviland was appointed to the council in June of last year to fill the seat vacated by Shaney Frame Crosby, who had resigned two months earlier.

When contacted, Haviland said only that he was resigning for personal reasons.

Anyone interested in the council seat, and is a registered voter living within Ward 1 (South Aberdeen) can apply by sending a letter of interest and resume to Mayor Pete Schave, 200 E. Market St., Aberdeen, WA 98520, or email pschave@aberdeenwa.gov.
