Like everything else in our worlds since last spring, the 2020 Best of Twin Harbors contest, was knocked off stride for a bit, but we got it figured out and moved ahead. Voting among our readers was not quite closed when the pandemic hit, so we put the project on the shelf for a bit, then reopened voting for one month.
Tens of thousands of you voted on your favorite businesses on the Twin Harbors and you’re probably wondering who won. The votes have all been tallied, the winners and favorites have all been notified, the section has been laid out, articles written and ads created. We’re just waiting until next Saturday to unveil the section to our readers, all 48 pages of it.
Even with everything that has happened since voting began way back in February the participation from both readers and local businesses exceeded what we have done in the last several years. The community really comes together to support this section and I can’t wait to get it into our readers’ hands and on their computer screens all across the harbors.
The section includes a listing of all 109 categories, and stories and photos about the businesses readers chose as their favorite in each community. And a separate story about your favorite business for the area overall.
It also includes ads from 79 advertisers. When you consider what it would be like around here without them, it’s sobering, so give those ads a look and do what you can to support those businesses, the way they support all of us.
