Madisen Camacho of Grays Harbor 911 has been honored as the Wide Area Network Critical Incident of the Year — Individual.

On May 19, 2024, in the quiet early morning hours, Camacho faced an unimaginable crisis, when her partner suddenly experienced a serious medical emergency, Camacho sprang into action. With extraordinary calm and precision, she:

Safely assisted her colleague

Dispatched fire and police help within 30 seconds

Took control of 12 radio channels and all incoming calls

Managed solo operations for over 15 minutes

Notified leadership and coordinated emergency access — all within three minutes

With just under 18 months of experience, Camacho’s quick thinking, compassion, and sheer professionalism kept Grays Harbor County safe and secure during a critical time. She lived out the Grays Harbor 911 motto: “We put our heart in every call.”
