The Coast Guard rescued a man after rough waters overturned his skiff near the entrance to Grays Harbor Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement from U.S. Coast Guard station in Astoria, Ore.

A boat crew aboard a 47-foot motor life boat from Station Grays Harbor in Westport rescued the man who was sitting on top of his overturned skiff between buoys 2 and 4 and transported him safely to shore with no injuries or medical conditions reported.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard station in Warrenton, Ore., received a report of a man sitting on top of an overturned boat from a person on shore at 4:23 p.m. The boat crew arrived on scene short time later and rescued the man.

The Coast Guard reminds boaters to be aware of changing sea conditions and to avoid rough waters that their vessel can’t handle. As the fall season progresses, the water conditions throughout the Pacific Northwest are expected to be rough, therefore take all necessary precautions.
