Congressman Kilmer to host telephone town hall meeting Monday

Will field questions from constituents during the hour-long session

Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-Gig Harbor) will hold a telephone town hall meeting, his fifth “teletownhall” of the year, Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Kilmer a question or leave a message with their comments.

“You’re the boss, and I want to hear directly from you,” said Kilmer. “Your input Monday night will help me represent our region in the important debates coming up in Congress.”

Kilmer has also conducted four in-person town hall meetings across the 6th Congressional District last month, and regularly visits area businesses for employee townhall meetings.

In early April, Kilmer visited three colleges to hear from students and discuss ways Congress can help people better afford college. He also joined Tacoma-area high school students for a town hall meeting they organized on school safety. Earlier this month, Kilmer hosted two Facebook Live panel discussions at locations across Washington’s 6th Congressional District. Kilmer focused last month’s teletownhall on ideas to reform the country’s broken campaign finance system.

To join the call, participants can send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name and phone number by noon Monday. Residents who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call just before 6 p.m. inviting them to the town hall which will last about one hour.
