An 81-year-old Montesano woman was injured Thursday when a vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 12 and Clemons Road and struck her vehicle, according to an initial report from the Highway Patrol.
She was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in an aid car. Information on her condition was not available.
A patrol memo said the woman was headed north and was turning left onto the highway at Clemons Road about 2:15 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Aberdeen man ran a red light, striking the woman’s car.
Both vehicles had one passenger. Everybody involved was wearing a seat-belt.
Both vehicles — both 1997 Toyota 4Runners — were a total loss.
The State Patrol said the cause of the crash was the Aberdeen driver’s failure to yield and added that he could be charged with failure to yield the right of way.
