Rapid response nabs Aberdeen car prowler
Aberdeen Police were able to arrest a man who was observed smashing a car window with a rock early Tuesday after responding to the scene within a minute of the call. Just after 2 a.m. police arrived at the 500 block of East 5th Street and spotted the suspect run west up the stairs between the F Street Manor and the tennis courts below. Officers had set up a perimeter, trapping the suspect, who was located hiding on the patio of an apartment of Aberdeen Manor, positively identified by the witness and arrested for third degree malicious mischief and an outstanding warrant. According to Aberdeen Police Sergeant Darrin King, the 31-year old transient had a lengthy history of vehicle prowling.
