Cosmopolis and Aberdeen fire departments responded to a fully engulfed home fire in the 1500 block of 3rd Street in a Cosmopolis neighborhood Saturday.

Officer J. Mitchell with the Cosmopolis Police Department arrived on scene and began evacuating neighboring residents due to the proximity of the flame to their respective dwellings.

At approximately 6:11 a.m. Sunday morning, an Aberdeen resident, Justin Williams, contacted Deputy Chief H. Layman and took responsibility for starting the fire. Williams was arrested and transported to the Grays Harbor County Jail.
