The YMCA of Grays Harbor’s Board of Directors has named Franzine Potts as its new Chief Executive Officer.
She was the organization’s Chief Financial Officer and Human Resources Director for the past nine years and has been with the YMCA for a total of 12 years. She took over duties as CEO on Feb. 7.
Kurtis Dawson, the former CEO, left in December. Wes Peterson led the organization during the search for a replacement.
“I’ve witnessed first-hand the positive impact of the YMCA on the local community,” Potts said in a press release.
Potts said her own children have gained a variety of skills at the Y over the years: swimming at the pool, life lessons at Camp Bishop and social skills in preschool.
“She is an energetic, thoughtful leader with an unparalleled commitment to this community and the future of the Y,” said Zack Edwards, board chairman.
“I’m humbled and excited to continue the legacy laid before me by the dedicated volunteers, donors and staff,” Potts added.
Potts will lead an organization that has been on Grays Harbor since 1902.
