Grays Harbor College will reopen the Hillier Union Building (HUB) for in-person student support services beginning Monday, Aug. 16, the school announced Tuesday.
Because the college is closed to the public on Fridays during the summer, the hours for most services will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through Sept. 3.
College staff will host a “Welcome Back” booth between the library and HUB on the Aberdeen campus from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Aug. 16-18. Booth visitors will be eligible for daily drawings and other swag.
Additionally, the Harbor Landing Food Pantry, temporarily located in the HUB, is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The pantry is open to students and community members.
Grays Harbor College will offer on-campus, online, and hybrid — a combination on-campus and online — classes when fall quarter begins Sept. 20. More information about classes is available at classes.ghc.edu. Application information is available at ghc.edu/admissions or by calling 360-532-9020.
In accordance with guidance from local, state and national health agencies, Grays Harbor College is asking all employees, students and campus visitors wear a mask while on campus this fall, vaccinated or not. To find out more about the college’s COVID-19 response plan, please visit ghc.edu/covid19.
The college, like many others, is requiring all staff and students to be vaccinated or have an eligible exemption. The school has announced a vaccine incentive program, where students who are enrolled for six or more credits during the fall quarter and have filled out the college’s vaccination attestation form are eligible for one of 30 $1,000 scholarships for the 2021-22 academic year.
