The congregation of Temple Beth Israel will observe the Jewish New Year and the Days of Atonement in the next few weeks. The synagogue is located at Sumner and Martin streets in Aberdeen.
The High Holy Days services begin with the Rosh Hashanah evening service on Sunday, Sept. 29, beginning at 7 p.m. On the following day, Monday, Sept.30, the service will continue at 10:30 a.m.
For Yom Kippur, the evening service is on Tuesday, Oct. 8, beginning at 7 p.m, followed by the day service on Wednesday, Oct. 9, starting at 10:30 a.m. Discussion and time for reflection will take place between the services. After the concluding afternoon service, attendees are invited to stay for the “break fast” and community potluck.
Conducting the services will be Sandra Getter, traveling from Florida. Musical selections will be offered by Lynn Lipski.
