A 26-year-old Hoquiam man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving struck a guardrail on Endresen Road early Thursday morning.
Hoquiam Police and medics were dispatched to the 100 block of Endresen Road at 12:35 a.m. to a report of a motorcycle collision. Responders found the driver — identified by Grays Harbor County Coroner Robert Kegel as Bryce E. Beatty, 26, of Hoquiam — unresponsive, and life saving efforts from bystanders and paramedics were unsuccessful, said Hoquiam Deputy Police Chief Joe Strong.
“Preliminary investigation indicates the rider was northeast on Endresen Road on a 2003 Honda CBR600 and failed to negotiate a slight left curve, striking a guardrail,” said Strong. “The rider was not wearing a helmet.”
The roadway was closed for several hours during the investigation. The identity of the deceased was not immediately released.
