The Housing Authority of Grays Harbor County (HAGHC) will open the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Project-Based Voucher (PBV) waitlist from Wednesday, July 14, at 8:15 a.m. — Friday, July 30, at 4:30 p.m.
A news release from HAGHC states the preliminary application process will be different this year for the safety of applicants and staff. Wearing a mask and social distancing is required at all times and will be strictly enforced.
Prospective applicants must pick up their application in advance, at 602 East First St. in Aberdeen, beginning Tuesday, July 13, at 8:10 a.m., and may complete the form in advance. Those applications will not be accepted until Wednesday, July 14, with no exceptions.
All applications will be reviewed and received on a first-come, first-served basis. Your place on the waitlist will depend on the date and time stamp.
HAGHC staff will provide directions to applicants on the procedures when entering the back parking lot on July 14. Applicants are required to wear a mask and social distance a minimum of 6 feet at all times while waiting in line.
Applicants who live or work in Grays Harbor County will be eligible for a Residency Preference and will be placed above applicants on the waitlist that live outside of Grays Harbor County.
Everyone is welcome to apply, including emancipated minors. This is only a preliminary application.
The estimated wait time is two to four years and may depend on vacancies. HAGHC houses people based on their place on the waitlist, which may depend on the completeness of the verifications provided during the eligibility process.
