Incumbent Rep. Brian Blake easily defeated challenger Jimi O’Hagan in the state legislative race for 19th District representative, Position 2.
Blake received 21,639 votes, 60.5 percent, while challenger Jimi O’Hagan collected only 14,137 votes, 39.5 percent. The 19th District includes portions of Grays Harbor, Lewis, and Cowlitz as well as Pacific and Wahkiakum counties. In Grays Harbor County alone, Blake received 5,565 votes, 63.4 percent of the votes and O’Hagan received 3,211, 36.6 percent of the votes.
Blake, of Aberdeen, has been the Democratic representative since his appointment to the seat in 2002. He was a logger for a decade before he became an environmental specialist for the Department of Corrections.
The incumbent served on these House committees as of the 2015 session: Agriculture and Natural Resources as Chair; Business and Financial Services; and Commerce and Gaming.
Blake amassed almost $133,000 for the campaign and O’Hagan raised $2,776.43, the Public Disclosure Commission reported.
O’Hagan of Grayland is a cranberry farmer and Republican who has identified in the past as an Independent or constitutionalist.
