A magnitude 3.4 earthquake centered 4 miles east of Copalis Beach was recorded by the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network at 4:11 a.m. Tuesday.
A few people took to social media that morning to say they had felt the quake, which the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported was more than 20 miles deep. One Facebooker said he was awakened by a jolt just after 4 a.m. in Moclips; a few others reported feeling it in Hoquiam, and one said it was felt in Montesano.
Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Brad Johansson said the office didn’t receive any calls related to the quake.
Hannah Cleverly, Grays Harbor County’s deputy director of emergency management, said her office was monitoring the situation and would make announcements as warranted.
