Midnight Cruizers, Five Star launch new car show

A couple of “lifelong car guys” are bringing a new car show to South Aberdeen this weekend.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, there will be a free car display at Rich Hartman’s Five Star Chevrolet on Boone Street in South Aberdeen.

“Allen Erickson, general manager of Five Star Chevrolet, and Lanny Giroski, vice president of the Midnight Cruizers car club, brainstormed together and decided it was time for a car show in South Aberdeen,” said Mike Myers, Midnight Cruizers newsletter editor.

Attendees will see muscle cars, collector cars and trucks, custom cars, classic cars “and maybe a race car or two,” said Myers.

Every attendee will receive a coupon for a free car wash. There will be hats, trophies and a raffle for a pair of Seahawks game tickets donated by Hartman. The first 200 attendees will be treated to burgers, hot dogs and drinks.

There is no charge to enter your own car in the show, and any model year is welcome, said Myers.

Those wanting to display their cars can just show up that morning, according to Midnight Cruizers president Bill Jenkins. There’s no fee, and each registrant will receive a free raffle ticket.
