Montesano voters pass $429,000 ambulance bond

Voters in the city of Montesano are passing a five-year $429,000 bond to replace an aging 2009 Ford Econoline paramedic ambulance, which has more than 100,000 miles on it and is used for medical response and patient transport.

The bond, passing with 67% in favor (548 votes for, 265 votes against), will allow for the purchase of a new Type 1 ambulance designed to serve the community for the next 15 years.

The annual tax collection will be $85,800, with an assessment rate of $0.14 per $1,000 of property value based on 2024 tax rates. For a home of $300,000, that will cost about $42.63 per year, or about $3.55 per month.
