The Ocean Shores City Council voted to award $1.5M in 2025 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) grant money to 10 applicants based on recommendations from the five-member committee before the Council concluded its 2024 business.
The money, raised from people staying in overnight accommodations establishments, is to attract out of town visitors — “heads in beds” — into the oceanfront tourist town.
Of the $1.5 million in the Ocean Shores LTAC grant fund, $1.1 million will go to the Ocean Shores Convention Center for various expenses and capital expenditures, including operating costs, a new reader board sign and electrical system upgrades.
The $1.5 million was awarded to:
Ocean Shores Convention Center:
$1.1 million for operating costs and upgrades
$10,000 for the Hog Wild Festival
$25,000 for the Sand & Sawdust Festival
$10,000 for the Razor Clam Festival
Associated Arts of Ocean Shores: $15,800 for the 56th Annual AAOS Arts & Crafts Festival
Beachcombers Heritage: $8,500 for the Beachcombers and Glass Float EXPO
Coastal Interpretive Center: $60,000
Grays Harbor Youth Athletics: $10,000 for annual golf tournament, dinner and auction
North Beach Community TV: $5,000
Ocean Shores Marketing Coalition: $200,000
Rouge Attractions: $16,000 for a three-day professional wrestling weekend in Ocean Shores
Stage West Community Theatre: $3,700 for The Wearable Art Show:
Too Cool Sports: $30,000 for a three-day event in support of the national “Go Topless” event
