A new case of COVID-19 reported Monday in Pacific County is “associated with a COVID-19 testing event at an out-of-county seafood processing facility,” according to Pacific County Public Health.
The Monday case brings the county’s total to 60. The individual testing positive is between 50 and 60 years old, and Public Health said the case investigation and contact tracing are ongoing.
“There are currently two active cases being monitored by public health nurses,” read the statement. “Both are confirmed cases.”
There was no additional information about the “testing event at an out-of-county seafood processing facility” in Monday’s statement, and it is unknown if this positive result is related to mass testing at Washington Crab in Westport Friday.
Since last updated Aug. 19, Pacific County has only had two new positive COVID-19 cases reported as of Monday. As reported in Tuesday’s Daily World, Grays Harbor County between Thursday and Monday had 65 new cases.
