One medevac’d following serious crash near McCleary

A 50-year-old Steilacoom woman was medevac’d on Thursday after a serious crash while traveling west on state Route 8 just past McCleary.

The woman lost control while driving at around 6:20 p.m., according to the incident report from the Washington State Patrol, leaving the roadway on the right and striking several trees before coming to rest in the ditch.

Trooper Josh Magerstaedt of the State Patrol responded to the crash. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report. The woman was medevac’d to Harborview Medical Center; her vehicle, a 2006 Toyota van, was totaled.

Drugs or alcohol are not factors in the crash, according to the report.
