A 33-year-old Aberdeen man was struck and killed on state Route 115 outside of Ocean Shores on Thursday morning.
The man, whose name has not been released, was hit by a northbound Grays Harbor Transit bus just before 7 a.m., said Sgt. Marty Hays of the Washington State Patrol.
Emergency services had received calls about a man dodging in and out of traffic, Hays said, before a caller reported a bus had struck the man at 6:57 a.m. near the entrance to Ocean City State Park.
The Ocean Shores Fire Department responded to the call, said Chief Brian Ritter in a phone interview.
The bus, driven by a 62-year-old Humptulips man, had two passengers aboard at the time of the crash, Hays said. No injuries were reported aboard. Dark, foggy conditions may have contributed to the crash, Hays said.
The highway was shut down for a period of time while the state patrol and the Grays Harbor Coroner’s Office responded to the crash.
