Questions:

1. What are your views on the proposed construction of a new City Hall/Police Department/Court building for the city?

I support a new police facility. Somewhat as proposed. The police officers deserve to have a clean, safe environment to operate.

At this point they can’t even get out of the weather to service, clean or decontaminate their vehicles.

Having a proper facility should enhance the ability to keep qualified personal on staff, and aid in the recruitment of future officers and staff.

2. What are your ideas for addressing infrastructure issues in Cosmopolis (streets, sidewalks, city staffing, etc.)?

Solid long term planning. Partner with other municipalities and the county to consolidate some of the systems and improve purchasing power positions. Conserve existing finical resources and look for new funding sources, while working toward grant funding opportunities.

3. What would you consider to be the most pressing issue facing the next Mayor of Cosmopolis?

Besides funding issues, Cosmopolis could lose some key staff, in the not so far off future. Possibly due to retirement or changes in circumstances. Replacing and training key personnel may not be easy.

Changing the general culture around the city to include better communication, more transparency and more inclusion of citizens in government might also be a challenge.
