Revival of Grays Harbor is hosting a fundraiser drag show Saturday at the Aberdeen Eagles building in order to help sustain a homeless assistance program. The show will include more than 20 performers from Grays Harbor and elsewhere in Washington, who will be showing off their drag outfits, dancing and lip syncing to various songs.
In recent months, local drag performer Ceasar Hart has combined his shows with members from Revival and other non profits such as Harbor Include — which assists Grays Harbor youth in the LGBTQ community — to help raise money for them. The shows typically happen once a month, and last Sunday’s raised $1,335 for Revival.
Originally, Saturday’s show was going to be an emergency fundraiser to reopen Revival’s cold-weather shelter, which opens whenever nighttime temperature drops to 35 degrees or lower. But because the county government was able to speed up payment on Revival’s monthly grant, they have been able to reopen for the foreseeable future.
Organizers say Saturday’s show will be family friendly, with tickets running $4 for kids and $7 for adults. It will start at 7 p.m.
