Reward offered in Waugh’s burglary

About $10,000 worth of clothing was stolen by a man caught on video at Waugh’s Men’s and Women’s Apparel on Heron Street early Monday morning.

Waugh’s is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest, prosecution and conviction.

“Officers responded to a report of an alarm sounding there this morning at 6 a.m. and found the burglary,” said Aberdeen Police Lt. Dale Green.

According to a Facebook post from the store, the suspect entered the store at 110 E. Heron St. around 5:48 a.m. Surveillance footage shows the suspect apparently pulling bags from under a long-sleeved hooded coat as he enters the store, not facing the camera. He appears to be wearing jeans and dark tennis shoes with white markings.

According to the post, the man was seen on camera walking across the street from the store near the pawn shop a few minutes prior to entering the store.

The suspect made off with men’s Silver jeans and men’s Patagonia rain coats, adding up to about $10,000 worth of merchandise taken, according to the store’s post.
