A second suspect in the hit-and-run that left Cody Scott dead last week has been arrested by the Aberdeen Police Department.
Jeffrey Steven Foster, 49, was arrested Monday afternoon by detectives from the Aberdeen Police Department, said Lt. Andy Snodgrass.
“Our detectives started combing through records with the help of our investigations clerks. They found a bunch of vehicles and our detectives beat the streets until they found the vehicle,” Snodgrass said. “After an interview, he was booked in the Aberdeen City Jail.”
Foster was arrested without incident and taken to the jail, where he was held without bail on charges of vehicular assault and hit and run resulting in injury/death, according to the county government website.
The investigation is ongoing as Foster goes through the formal charging process, Snodgrass said.
“We are not looking for anybody else. We appreciate all the public tips,” Snodgrass said. “The work doesn’t stop when the arrests are made. There’s still more work to be done.”
The department is not releasing further details such as the sequence of events around the crash or the possibility of driving under the influence for the time being, Snodgrass said, to avoid interfering with the legal process around the charges.
