Summit Pacific welcomes Cornwell as new Chief Financial Officer

Summit Pacific Medical Center welcomes Cheryl Cornwell as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective mid-April.

With over 14 years of experience as a CFO in critical access hospitals, Cornwell brings deep expertise in rural healthcare finance and a passion for community-centered leadership.

Cornwell ’s professional background is rooted in a strong academic foundation. She earned her degree in Accounting from Central Washington University and holds an MBA with an emphasis in Change Management from City University. Her commitment to servant leadership, collaboration, and inclusive decision-making has been a cornerstone of her career success.

She is deeply committed to understanding and addressing the evolving challenges of rural healthcare.

Originally from Issaquah, Cornwell has lived in various parts of the Northwest, including north-central Montana and Southern Oregon.

She feels most at home near the ocean and enjoys the serenity of farm life, where she cares for her horses, dogs, cats and chickens. Outside of work, she loves trail riding, hiking, camping and volunteering. Her greatest joy comes from spending time with her two adult children in Oregon.
