Three suspects have been arrested by the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office following a shooting death in Moclips late Monday, as the investigation continues.
The three, all North County residents, were arrested in connection with the death of a 42-year-old Moclips resident, said Undersheriff Kevin Schrader. Coroner George Kelley identified the victim as Steve McMahon, and said that an autopsy has been scheduled.
“They have been charged with murder in the first degree and robbery in the first degree,” Schrader said. “All three suspects are charged with unlawful possession of a firearm as well.”
The suspects, who lived near the coast, were detained without issue as the investigation went on, Schrader said. Robert Lee Cannon, Sean Steven Ellefson and Levi Beau Lemieux-Taylor are currently detained in county jail, according to the county site.
“We are continuing to contact witnesses and gather additional information,” Schrader said. “We anticipate several additional interviews and potential search warrants on the case.”
The Hoquiam and Ocean Shores police departments assisted in the investigation, Schrader said. While the investigation is ongoing, there is no danger to the public, Schrader said — the suspects are believed to have had a personal connection to McMahon.
