The 62-year-old man, driving a Hyundai coupe, was traveling south on State Route 12 at about 3:57 p.m., when he attempted to turn left and was struck by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, a Honda sedan, driven by a 23-year-old Shelton man with a 25-year-old Elma woman in the passenger seat.

The 25-year-old woman was not wearing a seatbelt, and was subsequently medevac’d to Harborview. The first vehicle was totaled, according to the report.

The cause of the incident is the 62-year-old man’s failure to yield, according to the report.

Drugs or alcohol are not a factor in the case, according to the report.
